Parish News - April

With only two weeks until the first match of the season, a remarkable number of players finally emerged from hibernation at the first outdoor nets session of the year. It can only be hoped that turn out remains as good throughout the season. Nets will be every Sunday morning - 11am to 1pm - until August.

Yet more encouraging was the attendance of the first of three new members. William Cory, a freelance sound engineer, and Martin di Paola, an English teacher, responded to the club's recent recruitment drive and are joining as full members, while Seth Edwards, a media studies student at UWS, has also joined.

Seth, who plays his weekend cricket for Stirling County, was part of QuipuTV's production team during the recent ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in Dubai and joined Jack McGill, Mike Stanger, and David Holmes, as a cameraman for their successful live streaming of 14 matches during the group stages of the tournament.

Welcome and good luck to all the new members.

Finally, the club recently took delivery of its newly-branded stumps, courtesy of the good folk at And fantastic they look too. A picture of the new kit can be seen at and you can follow @pimpmystumps on Twitter. We would certainly recommend them.

A reminder to all members that the first game of the season is on April 17 at home to the GU Biologists. Please tick off your name on the online teamsheet now.
