It's been a stop-start first fortnight for the Club, which began with an opposition that failed to turn up for their match on April 19.

Torrance were deeply apologetic for their no-show, but it allowed the guys to warm-up in a low pressure six-aside match amongst themselves - well as low-pressure as facing Tom Cara's sledging can get.

The first pre-season friendly, therefore, was a convincing midweek win over Moorcroft at Titwood. Skipper, David Holmes, opened his season's account with an impressive 47, and Ani Vaidya eased his way into the team with a knock of 34. An efffective cameo from Ali Qayyum put a flourish to a strong innings total of 136-5 (from 16 overs).

The bowling honours were shared amongst the team with Leithead, Tauro, McGill, Moffat, Hines, and Balani all prospering. Excellent catches were taken by McGill, Qayyum, and Moffat, and Steve Collins impressed behind the stumps. Moorcroft closed on 117-8, giving the BBC a comfortable 19-run winning margin.

Another Sunday, another downpour and the match at West of Scotland was rained off. Hopefully, this week  end will prove better, and we'll try again.

Team for Sunday's match up on Thursday night.
