Setback for BBC on eve of new season.

On the eve of their season opener at Titwood, the club has been rocked by the news that leading wicket-taker Tony Followell is out for the entire summer. Followell, who has taken over thirty wickets in the past two seasons, has had an attachment at BBC in Manchester extended until the autumn, effectively ruling him out of the cricket season. Speculation that romantic incentives may have played a part in the move were dismissed.Defending his decision, Followell claimed that he would "greatly miss the team", but that "work must take precedence". Club President, Jack McGill, wished him well with the new job, but described Followell's absence this season as "regrettable".
